Winemaking process
Varieties:
40-year-old vines thrive, cultivated in pergola form, contributing to a unique Pinot Bianco.
Terroir:
At an altitude of 300 meters above sea level lies the single vineyard Schlossberg. The soils consist of dolomite limestone and moraine debris.
Vinification:
Spontaneous fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels, followed by a 12-month aging on the lees.
Opinion
Anton Felix Longo
"One of my favorites"
Schlossberg
Lean minerals,
brisk, fresh.
Sundust on the salty shores,
a sense of softness, whipped cream,
unripe stone fruits.
Devotion to nature,
a graceful embodiment of Dolomites.
A.P.
The 20 hectares of the biodynamically cultivated vineyards of Baron Longo are located in South Tyrol’s south, around the picturesque Castelletto in Egna. The vineyards range from 240 metres a.s.l. up to Montagna, in the Trudner Horn Nature Park, where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes thrive. The main varieties produced by the family winery are Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Cabernet. As a winemaker, Anton Baron Longo concentrates on wines that are distinguished by their elegance.
