“I am doing it my own way.“

ANTON VON LONGO LIEBENSTEIN

Anton Baron Longo

A renewal that comes from tradition

Since 2015 the youngest descendant, Anton Baron Longo, has been continuing this winemaking tradition on the family estate in Neumarkt. For Anton, a natural characterful identity, accentuated by alpine soils and climate as well as organic winegrowing play the major role.

Tradition

The winegrowing tradition of the Barons Longo dates back to the 17th century. The leitmotiv of Baron Longo is represented by the family values of steadfastness, courage and foresight.

A natural balance

A largely closed production cycle that uses natural restoratives and beneficial organisms, vitalising the soil and using traditional autochthone and robust varieties appropriate to the location, will conserve natural resources, reduce water and energy consumption and avoid the harmful emissions caused by chemical additives. Diverse biotopes, species-rich greening and the protection of wild animals all promote environmentally-friendly agriculture and the preservation of a diverse farming landscape. This is also fostered, in line with the principle of self-sufficiency, by the farm animals that live on the estate.

Environmentally-friendly agriculture

Diverse biotopes, species-rich greenery and the protection of wild animals promote nature-friendly management and the preservation of a diverse cultural landscape. This is also favored by the fact that farm animals are kept on the winery based on the principle of self-sufficiency.

Protection of climate, resources and plants

Low consumption of non-renewable energy avoids the emission of climate-damaging greenhouse gases along the entire production chain. New vineyards are planted at higher altitudes as a response to global warming, thus reducing the alcohol content of the wines. Not using artificial fertilisers or chemical substances helps protect the soil and groundwater, while controlled avoidance of genetic engineering for healthy plants prevents harmful effects on the human organism.

Social responsibility

Socially acceptable sustainability follows on from an appreciation of our employees, suppliers and customers. Our dealings with them are characterized by trust in what we deliver.

Economy & Fairness

By reducing the use of chemical agents, we reduce operating costs, increase the quality of our wines and - in relation to the work and material expenditure - also achieve higher added value.

In this way we increase the sustainable future prospects of our winery and enable fair pricing of the wines.

Identity

The care of a diverse and healthy cultural landscape, the holistic consideration of the interplay of nature and people and the committed cooperation of our employees result in very individual wines with a special character at the Baron Longo winery: wines with identity.

… and character

The special character of Baron Longo's wines stands out from the widespread "classic" production almost like a work of art. The unmistakable individuality of these wines conveys high quality, enjoyment and joie de vivre.
